Program Coordinator Position

The Blue Ridge EMS Council would like to welcome Ben Bond to our team! Ben has accepted the position of Program Coordinator for the Council.

Ben comes with a wealth of EMS knowledge and experience in both the field and education. Ben is a Flight Paramedic with Centra One Air Medical and an adjunct instructor for the Public Safety Program at Central Virginia Community College. Ben has previously served as a field provider, both career and volunteer. Ben began his career in EMS in 2005 volunteering with his father at the Amherst Life Saving Crew. Most recently, Ben was a recipient of the 2017 Virginia Governors Award for Outstanding Prehospital Provider.

Ben is married to his wife of almost 4 years, Melissa. They have 2 dogs, Max and Twiz.

Welcome aboard Ben! We are all very excited for you to be part of the team and look forward to working with you!

EMS Category 1 CE and Auxiliary Course Funding Program

The Blue Ridge EMS Council, Inc. seeks proposals from qualified EMS educators, organizations and jurisdictions (“vendors”) to plan and conduct Category 1 EMS continuing education courses and/or EMS auxiliary courses throughout the Blue Ridge EMS region. The council intends to contract with one or more vendors or optionally employ individuals to plan and conduct these courses. Funding associated with this program is available for approved courses conducted between August 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018.

 Please review the RFP in its entirety prior to submitting proposals. Any future revisions to the RFP along with questions and answers will be posted on our website starting on or before August 1, 2017. 

  • Deadline for submission of proposals for Category I EMS Continuing Education courses is December 31, 2017. 
  • Deadline for submission of proposals for Auxiliary courses is open and continues until April 30, 2018 or until designated Auxiliary course funding for the BREMS region is fully obligated, whichever comes first.  


The instructor application is located below. This application return policy would be preferred by electronic submission. However, we will accept applications by mail or hand delivered to the BREMS office at 1900 Tate Springs Rd, Suite 14, Lynchburg VA.
