EMS Division Officer:
(11/19/07) The City of Virginia Beach, Department of Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) seeks a highly experienced and service oriented individual to
serve as Division Chief. This position serves to coordinate and manage the
activities of the assigned division to ensure the planning, development and
implementation of policies and programs for the Department by developing
goals, implementing strategic initiatives, managing the divisional budget
and evaluating programs to meet the community’s needs into the future.
Strong demonstrated leadership skills, communications skills and
interpersonal skills, to include experience working with volunteers, are
required. This position must be able to function under the pressure and
stress of emergency work and is required to regularly function as a field
provider at the Paramedic level.
This FLSA EXEMPT position requires a 40-hour work week, Monday through
Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with frequent night, weekend and occasional
holiday assignments as necessary and is considered ALPHA-1. Starting Salary
